Check out the latest micro-RV for the Ineos Grenadier that’s revolutionizing overland vehicle camping!

The end of the original Land Rover Defender has left a significant gap in both the go-anywhere 4×4 market and the capable all-terrain micro-camper market. The Defender was home to some of the most popular pop-up camper SUVs in the world, but the new Defender has not quite picked up where the original left off. Enter the Ineos Grenadier, which was designed to be the spiritual successor to the Defender. It is slowly making its mark as a micro-RV, with the first pop-up Grenadier roof and a new camping system from French supplier Capvango.

Capvango’s camping system, known as the Raidbox 2.0, is designed specifically for the Grenadier. It offers a narrow aluminum box with two large lower drawers and a slim top drawer for storing utensils and cooking tools. The kitchen equipment, including a 30-L compressor drawer fridge and a dual-burner gas stove/sink combo, is housed in the lower slide-outs. The system also features a fresh water tank, automatic pump, and gray water tank.

The Raidbox 2.0 also serves as the base for the rear end of the bed, which folds out over the rear seats to accommodate a double mattress. During the day, the frame retracts, allowing for extra rear seats and seating for up to five people. The Grenadier with RaidBox is available for rental and for purchase as a solution for Grenadier owners.

In addition to the Grenadier, Capvango also offers a Raidbox 2.0 variant for the new Land Rover Defender. Both kits offer similar setups, but the Defender kit features only two drawers. For those seeking a more integrated micro-camper solution, South African overland manufacturer Alu-Cab has announced plans for its own Grenadier pop-top, set to launch in 2024. The prototype is currently available for preorder at select dealers in the United States.

These innovative camping solutions provide a new level of versatility for the Ineos Grenadier and the Land Rover Defender, ensuring that adventurous souls have the tools they need for a comfortable and thrilling outdoor experience. With the growing popularity of micro-camping, these aftermarket products are set to make a significant impact in the global 4×4 market.
