Gogoro recently unveiled its latest high-performance electric scooter, the Pulse, showcasing a new, edgier side of the company known for its innovative battery-swapping system and colorful scooters. The Pulse not only boasts a bold new design but also introduces a range of cutting-edge technological advancements.
As the first Westerner invited to test ride the Pulse and share the experience, I was eager to see if this electric scooter truly lived up to the hype. With numerous companies touting their e-scooters as revolutionary, the Gogoro Pulse stands out as a game-changer, setting a new standard for electric scooters with its swappable battery technology.
I had the unique opportunity to test ride the Pulse at a secluded airstrip in central Taiwan, lined up alongside local journalists for an exhilarating experience. The testing stations showcased the scooter’s impressive features, including Launch Mode, which delivers maximum power from the 9 kW powertrain for an exhilarating acceleration.
From testing the traction control on sandy terrain to navigating a slalom course with ease, the Pulse demonstrated its agility and performance capabilities. The highlight of the testing was the Launch Mode demonstration, where I experienced the scooter’s impressive torque and acceleration, reaching speeds over 62 mph in a matter of seconds.
Beyond its impressive performance, the Gogoro Pulse stands out for its advanced technology, including a Smart Cockpit with a 10.25-inch HD touch display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon QWM2290 digital chassis. The scooter’s innovative features, such as turn-by-turn GPS navigation and adaptive headlights, elevate the riding experience to a new level of sophistication.
Moreover, the Pulse leverages Gogoro’s renowned battery-swapping system, ensuring riders have access to a network of battery-swapping stations for quick and convenient swaps.
