MSI Unveils Cutting-Edge OLED Gaming Monitors

MSI is set to make a splash in the gaming monitor market with the release of several QD-OLED monitors. Leaked information suggests that the company has plans to unveil six new models in the coming months, ranging in size from 27 inches to 49 inches. These monitors are said to have impressive refresh rates of up to 360Hz.

The leaks come from a reliable source, Twitter user @chi11eddog, who is known for providing accurate information about MSI and hardware-related news. It is expected that these new monitors will be part of MSI’s MPG and MAG series of products, with the first model slated for release in November 2023.

Among the upcoming models is the budget-friendly MAG 341CQP, which is positioned as an alternative to the MSI MEG 342C. The MAG 341CQP will feature a QD-OLED display with a UWQHD resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels and an 1800R curve. It will offer a 175Hz refresh rate and will also come equipped with USB Type-C 15-watt charging. With the MSI MEG 342C priced at $999 upon its launch, it is expected that the MAG 341CQP will be priced lower to appeal to a wider audience.

Looking further ahead, MSI plans to expand its lineup with the announcement of the MPG 491CQP in January 2024. This monitor is expected to feature a 49-inch dual-QHD display with a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels, an 1800R curve, and a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it will come with a USB Type-C port capable of delivering 90W charging power. A possible unveiling is expected at CES 2024.

In addition to these models, there are four more QD-OLED monitors in development within the MPG and MAG lines. The MPG 321UPX will be available in two 32-inch variants, offering a UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a 240Hz refresh rate. The only difference between the two models is the charging capability of the USB Type-C port, with one providing 90W and the other offering 15W. There are also two 27-inch models with a WQHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a 360Hz refresh rate. Similar to the MPG 321UPX, these 27-inch models will be available with either 90W or 15W Type-C charging capabilities.

Currently, MSI has two QD-OLED monitors in its lineup. The first is the MEG 342C, which competes with the Alienware 34 QD-OLED and was released last year. The second is the award-winning 49-inch Project 491C, which won the CES Innovation Award and claims to be the world’s first 240Hz super-ultrawide QD-OLED gaming monitor.

With these new offerings, MSI is making a statement in the gaming monitor market, showcasing its commitment to providing high-quality displays for gamers.
