Revamped 2025 Porsche Taycan to Recharge in Record Time with 105kWh Battery and Improved Range!

Porsche’s 2025 Taycan Refresh: More Range, Fast Charging, and Enhanced Performance

Porsche is revamping its inaugural electric car, the Taycan, to set the bar even higher in terms of driving range, performance, and fast-charging capabilities. As the competition among electric vehicles heats up, Porsche is determined to maintain its position at the forefront with the updated Taycan sport sedan. The 2025 Taycan will be available in two body styles – the sports sedan and the Cross Turismo wagon – each offering four powertrain options as well as rear- and all-wheel drive variants. The sports sedan models will be priced between $101,395 and $210,995, with availability starting this fall, while the Cross Turismo models will range from $113,095 to $213,695.

The 2023 Taycan featured two battery configurations, 79kWh and 93kWh. However, for the 2025 model year, Porsche is introducing a new, higher capacity 105kWh battery as part of its Performance Battery Plus package. This enhancement aims to provide improved performance and range for the Taycan.

In addition, Porsche is touting the 2025 Taycan as one of the fastest-charging EVs on the market, boasting the ability to reach 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes. This is a significant improvement over other EVs with 800-volt architectures. The new Taycan will be capable of charging at 800-volt DC charging stations at up to 320kW, an increase of 50kW over the previous model. The newly introduced performance battery supports higher charging rates, even at lower temperatures, and is complemented by a 150kW DC/DC converter to optimize charging speeds on 400-volt networks.

The enhanced efficiency of the 2025 Taycan is achieved through various technological advancements, including a more potent powertrain, optimized battery management, and advanced heat pump. Notably, Porsche has improved the recuperation capacity during deceleration, with a more than 30 percent increase in recovery power.

Moreover, the refreshed Taycan will feature updated design elements, improved interior materials, and advanced connectivity options. Porsche also hinted at impressive range capabilities during recent tests in Southern California.

With the 2025 Taycan, Porsche aims to set new standards in the electric vehicle space and pave the way for its upcoming lineup of EVs. The refreshed Taycan represents a milestone in the brand’s electrification journey, with the all-electric Macan SUV, electric versions of the 718 two-seater, and a plug-in Cayenne in the pipeline. Stay tuned for more electrifying updates from Porsche.
