Revolutionary Upgrades Unveiled for the New OM-1 Mark II Camera – Must See!

In 2022, OM Digital Systems celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic Olympus OM-1 film camera with the release of the digital four-thirds model. Now, the OM System flagship has entered its second generation, featuring significant updates while maintaining its core features.

Following the sale of its imaging division in 2021, OM Digital Solutions released its first product in June. The OM-1, built around a brand new four-thirds 20.4-megapixel stacked Live MOS image sensor and TruePic X processing engine, carries forward these key features in the Mark II model.

The Mark II offers a 50-MP High-Res Shot mode, expandable to 80 MP with a tripod, and an increase in RAW color depth to 14 bits. With a sequential shooting rate of 50 frames per second and a buffer now allowing for around 213 RAW frames at 120 fps, the camera also promises blackout-free shooting through the viewfinder at slower frame rates than before. Moreover, the Mark II introduces Live Graduated ND functionality, allowing precise control of brightness and darkness via computational photography.

Improvements in autofocus, including a new human detection mode, and an upgraded sensor-shift image stabilization system enhance the camera’s performance. The magnesium-alloy body with weather-sealing and operating temperatures as low as -10 °C makes it suitable for wildlife photography.

With an enhanced user experience and a price tag of US$2,399.99 for the body only, the OM-1 Mark II is available for pre-order and expected to hit the shelves by the end of February. For more information, visit the product page for the OM-1 Mk II.
