A+E Networks EMEA has announced the launch of three new ad-supported channels on Rakuten TV, a popular Japanese video-on-demand streaming service. The move is a part of A+E Networks’ strategy to expand its content distribution on different platforms and increase the reach of its free channels. Rakuten TV is available in various European countries including Spain, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, among others, offering a diverse selection of around 100 channels for each nation.
Julie Mitchelmore, the Vice President at A+E Networks EMEA, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “This reinforces our strategy to distribute our content onto new platforms following successful launches on Pluto, Amazon Freevee, Samsung TV, and Virgin Media 02.”
Inside Crime, one of the newly added channels, offers viewers an exclusive glimpse into some of the world’s most notorious and gruesome crimes. True crime enthusiasts can delve into real-life crime scenes, police archives, and courtroom proceedings, uncovering the truth behind shocking mysteries. The channel features gripping series like Nightmare in Suburbia, Robbie Coltrane’s Critical Evidence, and Britain’s Darkest Taboos.
Mystery TV caters to those intrigued by the supernatural, exploring the realms of aliens, UFOs, government conspiracies, secrets, and cover-ups. Viewers can enjoy programs like Weird or What hosted by William Shatner, Top Secret UFO Projects Declassified, and Legends of the Deep, which peer into the unknown beyond our comprehension.
Additionally, World War TV takes audiences on a journey through history, examining conflicts that have brought the world to the brink of disaster and superpower stand-offs that continue to endanger global stability. The channel presents compelling shows such as WW2 Treasure Hunters, which follows relic hunters Stephen Taylor and Suggs as they unearth artifacts from World War II, as well as Hitler’s Gold and The Plane That Led D-Day.
Rakuten TV offers not only free live channels but also a vast selection of films and series available to rent or buy.
