“Revolutionizing Home Connectivity: Spectrum and Qualcomm Unleash the Power of Next-Gen Advanced Wi-Fi 7 Router for Lightning-Fast Speeds!”

Spectrum and Qualcomm have joined forces to introduce a state-of-the-art Wi-Fi router that supports the new Wi-Fi 7 standard and offers blazing fast speeds of up to 10 Gbps for Spectrum Internet users. According to a release, the Advanced Wi-Fi routers are expected to hit the market in 2024.

This collaboration aims to meet the increasing demand for high-speed and reliable wireless connectivity, catering to the needs of users who require multi-gigabit connections. Wi-Fi 7 utilizes all three Wi-Fi bands, namely 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz, to deliver enhanced speed, performance, low latency, and reduced interference.

Dave Rodrian, the group vice president of Wi-Fi products at Charter Spectrum, stated, “This next generation of Wi-Fi will support the delivery of new experiences, such as fully immersive, ultra-low latency VR, and aligns with our network evolution plan to enable multi-gig wireless connectivity across our entire footprint.

Spectrum Advanced Wi-Fi’s website highlights that the router automatically optimizes the Wi-Fi network to provide users with the highest wireless speeds. Additionally, Spectrum Security Shield ensures better protection against viruses and malware. Customers can conveniently manage their network through the My Spectrum app.

Expressing Qualcomm’s commitment to advanced user experiences, Ganesh Swaminathan, Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Infrastructure and Networking, stated, “Qualcomm Technologies’ obsessive focus on technology development, along with our years-long collaboration with Charter, is on full display with the development of the Spectrum Advanced Wi-Fi router featuring Wi-Fi 7.”

For Spectrum customers, the Spectrum Advanced Wi-Fi router will be available at a cost of $5 per month. Alternatively, they can opt for a 12-month free trial by subscribing to Spectrum One.

The introduction of the 6 GHz band will provide more airwave space for companies offering wireless home internet services. This expansion means reduced signal competition and faster, more reliable internet connectivity for users. Compared to the existing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, the new 6 GHz band offers four times the available space. It is hoped that even with the increasing adoption of 6 GHz routers, the ample spectrum availability will ensure fast and robust signals. Qualcomm was among the 13 approved companies selected for internet testing last month.
