Google may be following in Apple’s footsteps by developing their own comprehensive subscription bundle similar to Apple One. Recently, code found in the Android package files of the Google Home app hinted at the possibility of an “all-in-one” plan, as reported by 9to5 Google. Such bundling plans have proven popular among customers who seek simplified subscription management and potential cost savings.
Apple One, which launched in 2020, offers subscribers access to a range of Apple services for a single monthly price. This bundle combines services like music and cloud storage into one convenient package. Google’s code refers to an “[a]ll in one subscription from Google” and emphasizes getting more value for less by bundling a subscription called Nest Aware. This subscription is aimed at Google Nest cameras, doorbells, speakers, and displays, and is available in both monthly and annual payment plans.
The code also mentions benefits like 2 terabytes (TB) of storage for Google Photos, Drive, Gmail, and more. This could potentially involve Google One, a monthly subscription service that provides users with expanded cloud storage across various Google applications. Google One currently offers different membership plans with varying storage capacities, ranging from 100GB to 30TB, with prices starting at $1.99 per month.
More information about Google’s potential subscription bundle may be revealed at the company’s upcoming product event on October 4. Alongside anticipated announcements about the Pixel 8, there may be unveils related to a new Chromecast and Nest Wi-Fi router. If Google does introduce a bundle subscription, it may be coupled with hardware offerings.
