Samsung Flex3D Monitor

The CES 2024 trade show is set to feature a slew of new tech gadgets, with a focus on PC peripherals, computer hardware, and TVs. Notably, companies like LG, Asus, and Alienware will be showcasing their innovative monitors designed for gamers, professionals, and general users. Samsung has also announced its entry into the mix with the unveiling of a groundbreaking gaming monitor that offers glasses-free 3D and VR content.

While glasses-free 3D technology had previously failed to capture the interest of mainstream consumers, Samsung’s new high-tech concept gaming monitor is generating renewed excitement. The monitor, officially dubbed the Samsung 2D/3D gaming monitor, is capable of seamlessly switching between 2D and 3D modes at the press of a button. Using advanced technology, the 3D mode can analyze the user’s position and track their eyes in real time to create an immersive gaming experience.

Digital Trends‘ Jacob Roach had the opportunity to test out the new monitor and was thoroughly impressed. He found the gaming experience to be vastly superior to older glasses-free 3D displays, which often suffered from a limited viewing angle. Despite encountering some minor issues like screen tearing, Roach noted that the new Samsung monitor largely lived up to its promises.

However, it’s important to note that Samsung’s glasses-free 3D gaming monitor is still in the concept stage, with an official launch date yet to be announced. The company has indicated that more details will be revealed later this year. If the monitor does eventually become a commercial product, it is expected to come with a premium price tag, reflecting the innovative technology it offers.
