The World’s First Segment-Adapting Vehicle: The Surge S32 Revoluces Urban Transportation!

The Surge S32 is a revolutionary modular vehicle that combines the convenience of an auto-rickshaw with the nimbleness of a scooter. Manufactured by India’s Surge Automobiles, this all-electric vehicle is the world’s first segment-adapting vehicle, offering users the ability to switch between rickshaw and scooter modes.

The heart of the S32 is its Advanced Modular Scaleable Electric Platform (AMSEP), which serves as the frame of the rickshaw and contains the vehicle’s removable batteries, rear-axle motor, drive system electronics, and rear wheels. The scooter can be easily docked into the recessed area in the front of the platform, serving as the cockpit for the rickshaw. The joining/separating process is quick and effortless, taking just three minutes with the push of a button.

The scooter is equipped with its own batteries and motor, known as the Smart Switching Multi Powertrain (SSMP), and can travel at speeds of up to 60 km/h (37 mph) on its own. Surge plans to offer four different rickshaw bodies, each designed for a specific AMSEP, including configurations for passengers, cargo, and more. The rickshaw has a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph).

While pricing, availability, and battery life details are still forthcoming from Surge, the S32 presents an innovative solution for urban transportation needs. Experience the flexible capabilities of the S32 in the video provided.
