“Unlock the Melodies: YouTube’s Magical Humming Journey to Discover the Perfect Song”

YouTube is currently testing an innovative search feature that allows users to find songs on the platform by simply humming. This experimental feature expands on the existing voice search on YouTube by introducing a song search option. By switching to this new option, users can hum a song for at least 3 seconds and YouTube will identify it, providing relevant content like official music videos, user-generated content, and Shorts that feature the searched song.

While humming to search has been available on various platforms and devices for years, this is the first time YouTube has introduced it to their search functionality. Previously, Google Assistant and the Google app already had this feature for voice commands. Additionally, Apple offers its own version called Music Discovery, where users can prompt, “Hey, SoundHound, what’s that song?”

Currently, this search feature is only being tested among a small percentage of Android users, and it is not available to everyone.

In other news, YouTube has announced that it will start testing a new feature called “shelving,” where multiple uploads from a single creator will be bundled together and appear as a shelf on users’ Subscriptions feed. This addition aims to make it easier for members to quickly find the content they are interested in. Instead of having multiple daily uploads cluttering the feed, creators will be able to highlight several uploads at once.

YouTube often invites Premium members to participate in testing new features, giving them an exclusive opportunity to experience upcoming developments. Eligible users can join trials with unique functionalities that are still in the development stage. To see if you qualify, open YouTube on your mobile app, sign in to your account, and go to your profile picture. From there, select “Purchases and Memberships,” and you will find a list of all available trials under the “Offers from YouTube” section. Simply choose the offer you’re interested in and follow the prompts to enroll. It is important to note that trials have limited availability and participants receive a gift card upon completing a follow-up questionnaire.
